ASSISI
Walk in the footsteps of medieval saints as you visit the Basilica of St. Francis and the Basilica of  St. Clare (pictured right). Enter the Church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva, a church erected from the ruins of an ancient temple, which is symbolic of the triumph of God over paganism. Next visit the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. Inside is  the Portiuncula rebuilt by St. Francis in response to his mystic vision of Christ. This small interior chapel is honored as the birthplace of the Franciscans. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore Assisi, finishing with a Sunday Vigil Mass.

In the evening, rejoin your fellow pilgrims for a special event featuring a welcome from Jason and a Holy Hour of Adoration.

ROME

Celebrate morning Mass at Chiesa Santo Spirito, established as a shrine to the Divine Mercy by St. John Paul II. Visit and pray before relics of both St. Faustina and St. John Paul II.

Enter the inimitable St. Peter’s Basilica. Pray before the tomb of St. John Paul II before exploring the many altars housing incorrupt bodies and other relics of great saints. Atop the tomb of St. Peter, pray for our Church and for your friends and family back home. Time permitting, avail yourself of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and spend time in Adoration.

Make an afternoon visit by train to the Shrine of St. Maria Goretti in Nettuno, Italy.  Spend time independently exploring the shrine, then take in some sun at the nearby beach before returning to Rome.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are hotel rooms assigned?
Hotel rooms will be shared by 2-3 pilgrims traveling together. Adult pilgrims may be asked to share a room with other adult pilgrims of the same sex, depending of the mix of ages and genders in the final group. Private rooms are available at additional cost. Room assignments will be emailed to you at least two weeks prior to departure.

Will you book my flights?
Group airfare is available only from New York City on the designated departure date, Thursday, July 30th, with a return to New York City on the designated return date, Thursday, August 6th.

Because participants in this pilgrimage will otherwise be flying from multiple cities across the United States, we are not able to make group airfare reservations for you from your particular departure city. You may choose a "Land Only" package and reserve your own flights to/from Italy, or you may choose an "NYC" package and reserve your round-trip flights between your nearest airport and New York City. Please contact our office if you need assistance choosing between the two options.

What are the designated arrival and departure times? Why are they  important?
"Land Only" Packages
When reserving your flights, plan to arrive at Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) by 12:00pm on Friday, July 31st and to depart the same airport after 8:00am on Thursday, August 6th. These flight times enable you to use the group airport transfers. If you arrive after or depart before the designated times, you will be responsible for arranging transportation from/to the airport at your own expense.

"NYC" Packages

Group flights between NYC and Italy will be reserved after January 15, 2020. Flight reservation details will then be posted to your private group website, allowing you to reserve flights into/out of NYC, if needed.
